Why is The Arc Wayne’s Annual Membership Campaign Important?

  • YOU give us the opportunity for more of our citizens with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families to have access to programs and services, a say in local, state and national advocacy efforts and awareness of The Arc New York, and The Arc US presence.
  • We need a better-informed public. Awareness is an outgrowth of membership, and awareness is the first step to creating society-wide acceptance of people with various abilities.
  • As more volunteers are recruited to the work of The Arc, our leadership base for the future can develop and grow.

  • You can increase our impact by becoming a member of our chapter, which in turn will increase our representation with our parent organization, The Arc New York, giving us greater influence on state legislators and national policymakers.

This means that you gain access to organizational information through e-newsletters, periodic mailings, and events. You will be kept informed of recent developments in the field of developmental disabilities by The Arc New York and The Arc US.
