Preschool program

The preschool program focuses on providing a rich and varied learning experience in which each child can experience success. We anticipate, whenever possible, that the children who have special needs will gain skill development through their interactions with typical children and typical children will develop positive attitudes of caring, friendship, and understanding, while the group as a whole will experience many exciting and innovative preschool activities. We will work toward the development of a positive self-concept and self-reliance and independence within each child’s ability.

If a parent is concerned about their child’s development they can contact their school district’s Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) who will arrange for an evaluation. If the child is determined to be eligible for services the CPSE will determine the type of service and will, with parent approval, arrange for a provider.

Day care

Roosevelt Children’s Center (RCC) offers daycare services for children ages 18 months to 5 years. RCC’s daycare is licensed by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS).

The primary purpose of the daycare program is to provide parents needed daycare at an affordable rate with staff who are trained to meet the needs of the children who attend. We provide a safe and happy environment for the children to learn, play and grow to their maximum potential. Children receive a high-quality, developmentally appropriate toddler/preschool program that is designed to support social, emotional, and academic readiness so that they are able to transition to school at age five with confidence and ease.
