The Arc Wayne operates 15 residential homes and a Supportive apartment program throughout Wayne County. We have residential opportunities for adults with I/DD in Clyde, Lyons, Newark, Palmyra and Sodus. The homes range from 4 people to 12 people. We provide quality supports and services, which promote independence, individual choice and community integration through a Person-Centered Approach.
The different types of homes that the Arc Wayne operates are:
Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRA) – these are 24- hour supervised sites. Supports can include: transportation, assistance with personal care, assistance with medical appointments, community engagement, household skills, self – advocacy, relationship building, and other life skills that the individual is interested in learning.
Supportive Apartments – This is a more independent setting than the IRA as there are not staff on site 24-hours. The individuals and staff schedule times and activities to meet their needs. Supports can include: money management, transportation and assistance in the community, safety in the home and community, household skills and emergency management
